FAIRLEY EAST (LCD2) PROJECT, BRUNEI

Project Description

The Fairley East (LCD2) Offshore Project, undertaken by Damit Worley Parsons for Brunei Shell Petroleum Company (BSP), involved the engineering design and analysis of Jacket Riser Clamps for the offshore platform facilities located in Brunei waters.

The scope encompassed the complete design, modeling, and verification of the riser clamp assemblies used to securely support and restrain riser pipes along the jacket structure under varying environmental and operational loads. The design process included structural analysis, material selection, clamp configuration optimization, and interface detailing to ensure compatibility with the existing jacket geometry and riser dimensions.

Key engineering activities included:

  • 3D modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) to validate load capacity and fatigue performance.

  • Design for ease of installation and maintenance during offshore operations.

  • Compliance with international offshore design standards such as API RP 2A and DNV codes.

  • Preparation of fabrication drawings, material take-offs, and design reports for client approval.

The project ensured that the riser system maintained stability, integrity, and operational reliability throughout its service life, contributing to BSP’s objectives of safe, efficient, and long-term offshore asset performance.
