Project Description

The Asset Integrity Studies to Support IS Field Life Assessment project, executed by Worley Parsons India for Qatar Energy, focused on the comprehensive evaluation and structural integrity assessment of existing offshore assets to ensure continued safe operation and life extension of the IS Field facilities.

The primary objective was to summarize the condition and performance of existing offshore structures and systems by updating the Weight Control Reports (WCR) and conducting a series of detailed engineering analyses, including in-place, fatigue, seismic, and boat impact assessments.

The studies were performed using advanced finite element modeling, structural analysis software, and Qatar Energy’s integrity management framework, ensuring accurate evaluation of residual life, safety margins, and compliance with international offshore standards (API, ISO, and DNV).

The scope also included:

• Reviewing and validating as-built structural data and historical inspection records.

• Assessing cumulative fatigue damage and seismic resilience.

• Evaluating accidental boat impact scenarios and mitigation measures.

• Recommending necessary repair, reinforcement, and monitoring strategies to enhance asset longevity.

Through this project, Worley Parsons India provided critical technical insights enabling Qatar Energy to make data-driven decisions for asset life extension, safety assurance, and optimized maintenance planning, supporting the long-term sustainability of Qatar’s offshore operations.
